A way to dump all the stuff I wouldn't want to lumber my family and friends with. So if you're a friend or part of my family and you've heard it all before, I'm duller than I thought. Sorry.

How come...
...however stylish someone's house is they always have 30 year old teatowels with pictures of National Trust buildings on them?
Good old national trust, I'm rather fond of Stourhead. However it is the spread eagle Inn rather, than the house, that grabs me if I'm honest though. Oh and National trust loos! -the best public ones available.

Its been ages since I used a tea towel...most things drain off until dry or for quickness I may use a piece of Kitchen Roll.
But what you say is true. Most of these are given as gifts.
A lot of the best teatowels remain unused and people prefer to use a cheap one from Pound Stretcher or somewhere.
Syourhead...wonderful...had many a sunny afternoon strolling round (ending up more kanckered than expected!)
Six: NT houses or those ones with pictures and Latin names of herbs/spices/tomatoes
